ABUJA, May 11 (Xinhua) -- The Nigerian government on Friday said it has launched an investigation into the killing of a diplomat serving in the Nigerian Mission in Sudan.
In a statement on Friday, the Foreign Ministry described the killing as "unfortunate," saying it is working very closely with host authorities in their investigations over the incident.
Habibu Almu, a Nigerian Immigration attache, was found killed in his official quarters in Sudan's capital city of Khartoum on Thursday.
The foreign ministry, while condemning the gruesome murder of the diplomat, said Nigeria's government "would do everything possible to ensure that those behind this dastardly act are made to face the full wrath of the law."
