BELGRADE, March 30 (Xinhua) -- Spanish Real Madrid beat Serbian Red Star 82-79 on Friday here as Luka Doncic scored a game-winning three-pointer in the 29th round of the basketball Euroleague.
Real Madrid set the lead in the first half, 27-20, and managed to keep it all the way to the fourth quarter.
However, Red Star managed to get back into the match for 79-79 just seconds before the final whistle, but the talented Slovenian player saved the triumph of his team, with a precise shot for three points in the last second.
Doncic led Real with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists, while Red Star's Alen Omic stood out with 25 points and 10 rebounds, as well as James Feldeine with 18 points and 9 assists.
Real sealed the ticket to the playoffs long ago and currently occupy the 4th position in the rankings. Red Star, ranked 12th, have failed to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
The Serbian team will play they last Euroleague game this season against CSKA in Moscow, while Real will host Brose Bamberg.
