JOHANNESBURG, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The South African team that will take part at the 2018 African Youth Games are expected to perform better, said the sports regulating body on Tuesday.
The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (Sascoc) President, Gideon Sam said this in Johannesburg. The 2018 African Youth Games will take place in in Algiers, Algeria on July 18-28, 2018.
"We firmly believe our youth have prepared adequately for these important games which also act as a qualifier for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina. We wish these youth the very best of luck at these games, and may you continue to be excellent ambassadors to our country and perform at the best of your abilities," said Sam.
The South African team will contest in four sporting disciplines which are the boys and girls' archery, athletics, rugby sevens and hockey. Enditem
