And in the WC's final game of its second match day, the host was downed by Germany 11-8, being pushed to the brink of the elimination after two consecutive losses.
"We lost too many rebounds and I miscalculated my points in the last few seconds. Getting one point more is enough, but I tried to finish a two-pointer shot," said Song Kexin of team China.
When facing against team Germany, China found out that the European team which is capable of overpowering an opponent with sheer physical force or a smooth finesse style taking the upper hand during the game.
Luana Rodefeld of Germany contributed an easy finish in 30 seconds before the final, giving her team the second win on Thursday.
