KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad arrived in Singapore on Monday for an official visit and to lead the country's delegation to the regional summits.
"The visit will provide the opportunity for both sides to exchange views on an array of bilateral, regional and international issues of concern; and explore prospects for further strengthening cooperation for mutual interest," Malaysia's foreign ministry said in a statement.
The prime minister will also lead the Malaysian delegation to attend the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, as well as the related summits like the East Asia Summit that involves ASEAN's dialogue partners.
"The theme of the Singapore's Chairmanship is 'Resilient and Innovative ASEAN'. It encapsulates the vision for ASEAN to be united amidst growing uncertainties in the global strategic landscape," said Malaysia's foreign ministry.
