MAIDAN SHAHR, Afghanistan, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- At least two people were killed and 13 others sustained injuries after a mortar mine fired by militants struck a wedding party in Jalriz district of Afghanistan's eastern Wardak province on Saturday, provincial government spokesman Abdul Rahman Mangal said Sunday.
The deadly incident, according to the official, took place at 4:30 p.m. local time Saturday when the Taliban militants fired a mortar mine which slammed a residential house where a wedding party was underway.
Two civilians were killed and and 13 others injured, the official said.
Taliban militants have not claimed responsibility for the attack.
