RIO DE JANEIRO, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's President-elect Jair Bolsonaro said on Monday that state-controlled oil and gas giant Petrobras can be "partially privatized."
Speaking to reporters, President Bolsonaro said the issue is still under consideration, and such a plan must be dealt responsibly.
Petrobras, currently a mixed company, is listed on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, but the company and the majority of its capital are controlled by the Brazilian government.
Earlier in the day, Bolsonaro's team named Roberto Castello Branco as the new CEO of the company. The president neither confirmed nor denied that the outgoing CEO Ivan Monteiro will head state-controlled bank Banco do Brasil.
