YANGON, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 1.84 billion kyats (1.18 million U.S. dollars) worth of narcotic drugs in Mabane township, Shan state, said a release from the Home Affairs Ministry Thursday.
The seizure was made by a military unit on Tuesday when they intercepted a motorcycle, and according to the motorcyclist's confession, confiscated 868,000 stimulant tablets and 5.28 kilograms of heroin hidden in 528 soap cups at an uninhabited hut in a nearby village.
The motorcyclist has been charged under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.
