RABAT, Jan. 23 (Xinhua) -- The foreign direct investment (FDI) in Morocco hiked by 28.6 percent in 2018, the foreign exchange regulator said Wednesday.
Morocco attracted FDI worth 3.5 billion U.S. dollars last year, up from 2.72 billion dollars in 2017.
In 2018, remittances from some 5 million Moroccan expatriates decreased by 1.7 percent to 6.8 billion dollars, while Morocco's tourism revenues increased by 1.4 percent to 7.5 billion dollars.
Tourism revenues and expatriates' remittances are the main sources of Morocco's foreign currency reserves.
