JAKARTA, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Top-seeded men's singles player Kento Momota of Japan advanced to the final of 2019 Indonesia Masters badminton championship after beating Viktor Axelsen of Denmark here on Saturday.
The 2018 Indonesia Open champion defeated sixth seeded Axelsen in an easy match 21-15, 21-4.
In the final match slated for Sunday in Jakarta badminton stadium of Istora Senayan, Momota would vie against another Danish player Anders Antonsen.
"We played competitively in our previous encounters. Antonsen now is in his peak form. I will try not to get attacked a lot or being carried away by his playing style tomorrow," Momota told a press conference.
Antonsen advanced to final after beating Indonesian Jonatan Christie in another semifinal match earlier in the day.
Meanwhile in women's singles semifinal matches, Spanish player Carolina Marin faced uphill task to secure a final berth of the tournament.
The 2016 Rio Olympics gold medalist defeated third seeded Chen Yufei from China 17-21, 21-11 and 23-21.
In the final, Marin would vie against India's Saina Nehwal who advanced after beating Chinese player He Bingjiao.
