YAOUNDE, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- The second edition of Africa Under 23 (U-23) Cycling Nations Cup opened in Cameroon’s commercial capital Douala on Monday.
According to officials of Vivendi Sports which is organizing the event in collaboration with the International Cycling Union, 108 athletes from 13 countries and regions in Africa, Europe and Asia are taking part in the competition.
Officials said Nigeria and Kenya that previsouly signed up for the competition failed to show up citing “internal problems”.
