RIO DE JANEIRO, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- Brazil on Wednesday extended its condolences to the government and people of Egypt following a deadly train crash and fire in Cairo earlier in the day.
The Brazilian government offers "solidarity and condolences to the families of the victims, to the people and to the government of Egypt, and wishes full recovery to the people injured," Brazil's foreign minister said in a statement.
A train crashed into a buffer stop at a central train station in Cairo on Wednesday, causing the train's fuel tank to blow up. The fire hit the station platform and spread to nearby constructions.
At least 20 people were killed and over 40 others were injured.
