BEIRUT, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's Byblos city organized on Saturday a Ukrainian Day, which witnessed the opening of the Ukrainian public garden, the National News Agency reported.
The garden was opened in the presence of Ukrainian Ambassador to Lebanon Ihor Ostash, Head of Byblos' Municipality Wissam Zaarour, and Ukrainian citizens.
"This event is important because it boosts relations between Ukraine and Lebanon in addition to the cultural exchange while introducing Lebanese people to the Ukrainian civilization," Ostash said.
Meanwhile, Zaarour emphasized the strong relation between the Lebanese and Ukrainian peoples.
"We succeeded in attracting 93,000 tourists in 2017 and the number went up to 100,000 in 2018. This year, the number will be higher since we have already witnessed so far 45,000 visitors to the city," he said.
