NANNING, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced that Thailand's Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul has been elected as BWF Deputy President here on Thursday.
Leeswadtrakul, whose mandate will run from 2019-2021, is also a member of the International Olympic Committee.
"I am very thankful for being elected BWF Deputy President. I am very humbled by this announcement and thank you to the membership for trusting me. I will do my best for the sport of badminton," the 54-year-old Leeswadtrakul said.
The election was held at the BWF Annual General Meeting in Nanning, China, the host of the ongoing 2019 BWF Sudirman Cup.
