A handicraft cooperative and a batik craft cooperative of "Mom Handworks", a public welfare project initiated by China Women's Development Foundation (CWDF), were put into operation in Guizhou's Taijiang and Danzhai respectively. The landing of two cooperatives explores a new mode on poverty alleviation, combining local government, non-profit organizations and cultural institutions together to develop local intangible cultural heritages and help poverty-stricken mothers with craft skills to increase income. "Mom Handworks" also contributes to the development and popularization of the culture of Miao ethnic group in Guizhou. (Xinhua/Zhang Yuwei)
