SHANGHAI, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- As the first exhibit arrived at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai Tuesday, arrangements for the exhibits at the upcoming second China International Import Expo (CIIE) officially began.
The exhibit, Model 195 high speed patrol boat, made by Ferretti Security Division, is a 20-metre-long fast patrol vessel, which will make its first Asia appearance at the expo.
Luca Pelosio, chief project engineer of Ferretti, said that with new materials like carbon fiber and titanium, the vessel can safely and effectively conduct various missions, including sea patrol, and maritime search and rescue.
The vessel, which was split into two parts for transportation, took about five hours to be properly arranged in the venue.
To better cater to exhibitors with personalized needs and accommodate special exhibits like Model 195 high speed patrol boat, the center has drawn up corresponding transportation and exhibition plans, according to Peng Chunyan, an executive with the center.
A total of 64 countries and three international organizations have confirmed their participation in this year's CIIE, scheduled for Nov. 5 to 10.
