ALGIERS, July 20 (Xinhua) -- Algerian judo teams grabbed three gold medals Friday at the 3rd African Youth Games held here, which will last to July 28.
The judo competition took place at Hacen Harcha Sport Hall in downtown Algiers.
The Algerian team of four boys took gold in a great battle with Nigeria, while the girl's team also followed on the boy's path, as they overcame Nigeria in the final. The boy-girl mix team also snatched the gold medal, as they managed to take the best of Nigeria in the final, leaving the third place for Burundi.
Algerian boy and girl judo athletes have already shined in individual completion on Thursday, as they grabbed seven medals, including three golds.
The 3rd African Youth Games kicked off on Wednesday in the Algerian capital of Algiers, as some 3,300 athletes from 54 African countries compete in 30 sports.
